In America The early performance arts achievements of the young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely have put her in the child prodigy category. But for a young Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and extended family, these traits came as a natural. Maureen arrived in this nurturing haven, August 17, 1920. She was raised by her parents as well as family members. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin and was also the owner of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed playing athletic games as a child and excelled in sports. This interest was combined with an unnatural talent for performing. This was demonstrated by her receiving nearly every Feis award for drama or performances in the theater that her nation offered. When she was fourteen, she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her ambition was to study operatic singing as well as classical theater.
